The lead track, “Palmy Days,” gets the remix treatment from Canadian maverick Jex Opolis, who boosts the energy levels by breaking out the breaks, incorporating clever vocal chops, a rolling bassline and adding texture with some strummed acoustic guitar. The final arrangement and mix were done by Lexx. Lexx Opolis, anyone?
The original version isn’t designed for prime time, but rather for those comforting moments when the day or night is coming to an end.
It explores the dreamier, slightly more ethereal side of house, where there’s room to breathe and feelings become airy.
